A Controller Debuff is a Controller role effect that negatively affects an opponent for a short time. They are indicated by red symbols beneath a target's name plate.
There are 3 types of Controller Debuffs:
- Damage : Reduces the target's damage output by 10%.
- Defense : Reduces the target's defense by 10%.
- Healing : Reduces the target's ability to heal by 25%.
Although many of these abilities hit multiple targets, normally the debuff will only be applied to your main target.

Trivia[]
- There are other Debuff abilities that are not specific to the Controller role.
- The "Controller Debuff" tag was added to specific power descriptions in game update 47. These percentage based Controller Debuffs are more effective with the increased NPC stats introduced in the update. Controller Debuffs can stack according to [1].
- A buffed target has to be hit twice with a debuff power in order to debuff it. The first hit neutralizes the buff and the second hit applies the debuff.
