In-Game History[]
Learning that someone was tempering with his past, the Flash (Barry Allen) sends a pair of heroes to the night of the lightning strike via the Cosmic Treadmill to stop the meddlers from altering the timeline.

Walkthrough[]
Go to the north room and speak with the Flash on the Cosmic Treadmill. He tells you that his Rogues are trying to erase his origin. For villains, Professor Zoom fills in the role, saying that his powers will also vanish if Flash never existed. He starts running on the treadmill and tunnelling through the Speed Force, allowing you to go through a portal in time.
To start to go through the Speed Force, both players must be in it near the treadmill (however, once started, one player can complete this segment). Waves of Paradox Reapers will appear and you need to kill all of them or the exit portal won't open. After a short distance into it, a paradox wave appears behind you and begin chasing you. If it catches up to you it would continuously deal massive damage and KO you almost instantly. Do NOT try to Supersonic or equivalent through the Speed Force, because if you reach the other end too fast, the Paradox Reapers will not be able to spawn, and the exit won't open; you will be forced to be KO'ed by the paradox wave and try again slowly.
If one player manages to complete it and enter CCPD and the other player is KO'ed, the other player can then respawn in the CCPD. Do not try to use the portal to go back into the Speed Force - it will simply remove you from the instance entirely.
You find yourself in a shooting range and attacked by hypnotized officers. After defeating them, you find Pied Piper who sets more officers on you. There is also a Sonic Emitter in the middle of the room that would damage you every second and slow you if you are near it. Pursue the Piper - you must fight through a lot more officers and several more emitters. There are a few computers you can interact with, a couple will shut down security cameras and slightly reduce the amount of officers you have to fight, and one will shut down Riot Bots which makes the final boss easier.
Defeat Pied Piper (you may need to interrupt him to stop him from controlling your ally) and continue (there is a possible bug that prevents the door to the last two chambers from opening, leaving players stuck).
Enter the second-to-last room, and you find Abra Kadabra who has trapped Barry Allen in a forcefield then retreat behind a locked door in the final room. To open it, the two players must operate the machinery on the wall in the corridor leading to it simultaneously. There are two orange healing barrels in the boss room - one in the northwest corner (respawns in 90 seconds) and one in the southeast (does not respawn).
Upon his defeat, Abra Kadabra blames the players for foiling his plans and mentions that his unnamed "benefactors" have all the time in the world to try again, before vanishing. Despairing over the amount of cases he has to work through, Barry Allen is suddenly struck by lightning and becomes The Flash!
Trivia[]
- If you try to stand on the Cosmic Treadmill while it is running, it would throw you backwards much like a real-life treadmill going too fast for you.
- Heroes start the instance in the southeastern corner of the Flash Museum, while villains start in the southwest. They cannot access the opposite starting rooms.
- Flashback is the only Tier 1 On Duty instance that is not directly named after a location. It is simply labelled "Flashback" in the side bar of the On Duty menu, although when clicked on, it displays "Cosmic Treadmill: Flashback".
