Currency tab

The currency tab.

Currency in DC Universe Online refers to tokens and cash used to obtain various items and equipment when trading with certain vendors and kiosks. There are several different forms of in-game currency, some can be obtained from defeating opponents and completing quests, while others can be earned through conversion with real world money. While the majority are available throughout the game, others still are only available and usable during certain events or can be found and used only within the context of episodes.

Currency cannot be owned beyond its cap, thus any of it earned beyond, will be discarded.

Episodes prior to the latest three (excluding House of Legends (Episode)) have unique currencies that are no longer earned from them. Existing currencies can be traded for Source Marks at a 1:1 ratio at the according episode vendors.

Money[]

MoneyPickup

Cash[]

Cash is the most prevalent form of currency in DC Universe Online. Represented by gold dollar symbol icons, Cash can be earned for completing missions, destroying objects or defeating enemies, players can also sell unwanted items to vendors for cash. Cash is the primary form of currency and is featured in the majority of trades with Vendors and Kiosks; used to purchase equipment, consumables, equipment repairs, and the Trait Reset (or Re-spec) service. It is the only currency that can be traded or mailed between players.

Escrow

Escrow[]

Escrow is cash that exceeds a player's current Access Level status. Once the player meets and exceeds their limit, as dictated by their membership, all money they earn that exceeds the limit will be placed in an "Escrow Account" where it cannot be spent until they upgrade their Access Level which increases their currency limit.

  • Free Membership - any amount exceeding $50,000 will be placed in Escrow.
  • Premium Membership or Legendary Membership (All Access - AA) - currency amount is unlimited and Escrow is no longer applicable.

The Marketplace also provides purchasable upgrades that enable the player to access 10,000 or 25,000 of their Escrow cash for a set amount of Daybreak Cash or to freely access the Escrow Account for 7 days.
