Initiates are members of Sentinels of Magic. They are former Apprentices that were fully initiated into being Sentinels. The Initiates are Homo Magi and they appear in the Chinatown district of city of Metropolis. Armed with wands, they are of magic origin with the power set in Sorcery.

Involvement[]

The Initiates are stationed throughout two blocks north of Chinatown Cafe and in the Sentinels of Magic Base during the Rare Blood mission. They are tasked to protect civilians and secure the protective wards, while Cultist Gouge hires villains to destroy the protective wards. Additionally, they are among the forces guarding the Eye of Sin.

Strategy[]

There are three types of Initiates: patrolling males, patrolling females and protecting wards.

Patrolling Initiates[]

Once the villain player is in range of an Initiate, all of them start making range attacks. They do not approach the player themselves, but if the player comes in melee range, they start making melee spell attacks which consists of 2-3 hits of medium damage (usually 6 hp) and a possible combo attack dealing high damage (usually 17-25 hp). The range attacks differ among males and females.

Female Initiates[]

The female Initiates make two types of range attacks alternating between them. They either shoot quick spells dealing higher damage (usually taking 7 hp) once and lower damage (usually 3 hp) several times, or they cast a magical energy forming a line between them and the player dealing medium damage (usually 5 hp) multiple times for several seconds.

Male Initiates[]

The male Initiates make either one charged range spell attack dealing higher damage (usually 16-17 hp) or two quick spell range attacks of varying damage (the first is usually 6-5 hp, while other is usually 20 hp).

While female Initiates deal relatively more damage, in both cases it is recommended to attack them in melee range as both make less damage in melee on average.

Initiates Protecting Wards[]

Once the player starts hitting protecting wards, two Initiates teleport at the site and start making melee spell attacks. They make two types of combo attacks, lesser consisting of 2-3 hits of low damage (usually 4 and 7-6 hp) and greater consisting of 4-5 hits of medium damage (usually4 and 14-15 hp). If the player leaves melee range, they will start to approach while making range spell attacks which are single charged hits of medium damage (usually 10-11 hp). As they deal relatively less damage on range, it's recommended to attack them also from range.
