GothamCourthouseBottled

The South Gotham Courthouse is Gotham City's public courthouse, located in the Old Gotham district.

Bottled, like the majority of the buildings in south Gotham, the South Gotham Courthouse among other buildings becomes a target for joint infiltrations between the Justice League of America and the Secret Society of Super-Villains in an attempt to weaken Brainiac's Union.

In-Game History[]

BatmanCom
"Oracle got you inside...good. This bottle is the command center for the leaders of Brainiac's so-called Union. Inside here, the governing members reprogram converted civilians, assigning them their civic duties. They've constructed graviton emitters from scraps of Brainiac technology. To reach the Union leaders you'll need to disable them. Taking this place out will disrupt their work." — Batman

Involvement[]

The instance is available for 4 player Legends PvE.

Walkthrough[]

South Gotham Courthouse is a somewhat tricky early game alert, a lot of which is due to the graviton emitters, which grounds all players and prevent usage of Movement Modes in the first part. This is sometimes inconsistent, so if you were not affected, it could make the alert much easier. If not affected, do not return to the starting area/anywhere further than turning the corner of the Courthouse away from the main battle zone or you may be re-grounded.

The Brainiac Union has taken over the Courthouse and metes out punishment for "crimes against Brainiac" with its twisted justice system. You must tamper with this process.

First boss: The Bailiff[]

The Bailiff is involved with juror selection. He starts off untargetable but will still attack nearby players with Rifle. Brainiac Constables will bring Brainiac Jurors in cages to him, and you can stop this by tank pulling, or killing the carriers (the latter may also cause human jurors to appear). You must find human jurors in similar cages far to the side of the area and bring 6 of them to the Bailiff to stack the court before the Brainiacs can do 7.

Brainiac Constables do not actively attack and will generally keep carrying on when attacked; if you attack them at melee range, they may use Weaponized Smash to deal moderate melee damage. This may be advantageous because it stops them from walking for the time being.

Players who are grounded may want to focus on Constables while those not grounded carry the human jurors as it is much faster. If in flight and not grounded, Swoop Attack (and Shield Powers) can be used to get out of combat stance to get to human jurors much more quickly.

Further complicating this are the numerous non-attackable floating orbs (The Whole Truth) that zaps any nearby players with Energy Burst for damage. Stun pads alternate on (glows yellow) and off, and will stun and damage any players caught within while active.

Once you have secured 6 human jurors, and Bailiff can be defeated.

Afterwards, you can destroy the 4 graviton emitters on the 4 corners of the Courthouse (jump pads on the ground allows you to reach those floors) to get your movement modes back.

Second boss: The Attorneys[]

This is likely the harder fight. Both The Defense Attorney and The Prosecutor are usually protected by forcefields that prevent all damage. They also have simple but powerful ranged beam attacks that hit quite hard. You must kill the Brainiac Witnesses or Evidence Couriers that spawn (and destroy the evidence boxes the latter drop) before one of the forcefields drops, and the affected boss will also be stunned and unable to attack for a time while you must burn them down quickly. This would likely need to be done several times before they can be defeated.

  • Graviton Blast: Damages and grounds the target.
  • Held Without Bail: Encases a target, which may also damage and encase other nearby players.
  • Damaging Testimony: Continuous area damage dealt to nearby targets.
  • Burden of Proof: Stomps the ground, releasing a burst of fire that deals damage in a moderate nearby area.

Final boss: The Supreme Justice[]

Enter the high chamber via an upper floor portal.

The Supreme Justice attacks with a Two-Handed weapon.

The Supreme Justice is not as hard in comparison, but nevertheless has troublesome special attacks, one of which hard-stuns two players in a cage for some time, and he can also remove all your abilities for a time. Sometimes he will go into a state in which all damage he takes is reduced to 1. Interact with all 4 file cabinets on the edges of the room to restore your abilities.

  • Approach: A beam that pulls and deals heavy damage to the target.
  • Order in the Court: Damages nearby targets and blasts them back.

After the final fight a Brainiac Stealth Unit can be detected and subsequently be defeated by investigating the platforms and balconies on the courthouse and its surroundings.
