Gadgets

Dictate the course of battle with ingenious mechanical weapons and tools. Characters with the gadget power will find themselves pulling out all manner of devices from their pockets and pouches. On the front lines, a well-placed gadget will help you control not only the enemy but the battlefield itself. Gadget characters are crafty and use their heads to place their devices strategically to achieve victory.

Specializing in Crowd Control abilities, Gadgets is a Power Set available for a character during Character Creation.


Tactics

Slip through the shadows and employ cunning tactics to manipulate the battlefield!
Specializing in this tree grants +5% Critical Attack Damage and +1 Stealth.

Controller Role :  In the Controller role you gain 350 Vitalization, your Dominance is increased by 100% and the strength of all Controller effects is significantly magnified.

Player versus Player: The following rules take effect in PVP arenas: The Health restoration effect of Anesthetic and Power restoration effect of Battle Drone are reduced. Passive damage and damage over time effects have reduced damage or duration against players. No bonus Vitalization is gained in Controller role. In Damage role, EMP Pulse and Paralyzing Dart will not deal heavy damage when used immediately after unstealthing or using Distract. Also in Damage role, triggering the Power refund advanced mechanic also triggers Interrupt vulnerability.

Taser Pull

Throw a taser line around your target, damaging, stunning, and pulling it toward you.

Power Interactions : Electrifies enemies, making them vulnerable to Electrified Power Interactions.
Control Role : Restores Power to group members over time
Damage Role : While Battle Awareness is active, enemies restore Power to you when hit by this ability.
Increases all damage by 35% until the hit. counter resets.

Fear Gas

Spray fear gas to Panic enemies and cause damage over time.

Vulnerable to Interrupt
Power Interactions : Inflicts Burning on Electrified enemies; Burning or Electrified enemies will explode, while Frostbitten enemies may become encased.
Damage Role : While Battle Awareness is active, enemies restore Power to you when hit by this ability.
Increases all damage by 35% until the hit counter resets.

Stealth

Cloak your movements in secrecy, enabling special stealth attacks:


Buffs: 5% Dodge (2s), 5% Evasion (2s), 60% Critical Ability Attack Chance (0.5s), 60% Critical Attack Chance (0.5s)
Stealth is removed on zone and is Usable in Combat.

Defibrillator

With a jolt, instantly revitalize your group's three most fatigued members, restoring Power. Also increase your Might and Precision for a short time.

Damage Role : Increases all damage by 35% until the hit counter resets.
Applies +77 Might and +62 Precision for 6 seconds.

Bunker Buster

Call down a barrage of rockets, incinerating enemies within the area. Enemies caught in the barrage can be heavily damaged, stunned, rooted, and knocked down.

Battle Display

Survey the battlefield for enemy weak points through a heads up display, and heal yourself over time.

Usable While Controlled : Vulnerable to Interrupt
Damage Role : Activating the display grants you Battle Awareness. Increases all damage by 40% until the hit counter resets.

Battle Drone

Deploy an automated drone that bombards enemies, damaging and knocking them down. The Battle Drone also revitalizes your group, restoring Power over time. When the Battle Drone is knocked out, it will instantly revitalize you and nearby group members, restoring Power.

Gauss Grenade

Toss a charged grenade that zaps enemies with a high-intensity electrical burst, damaging and stunning them.

Usable While Controlled : Controller Debuff
Power Interactions : Electrifies enemies, making them vulnerable to Electrified Power Interactions. Frostbitten enemies take additional damage.
Control Role : Reduces enemy defenses.
Damage Role : While Battle Awareness is active, enemies restore Power to you when hit by this ability.
Increases all damage by 45% until the hit counter resets.

Cryo-Foam

Blast subzero foam at your enemies, causing damage over time and rooting them in place.

Controller Debuff
Power Interactions : Inflicts Burning on Electrified enemies to cause damage over time.
Inflicts Frostbite to make enemies vulnerable to freezing effects, while Frostbitten enemies may be rooted or encased
Burning or Electrified enemies will explode.

Neural Neutralizer

Activate a protective barrier that affects nearby enemies' synaptic systems, stunning and damaging them at point-blank range.

Damage Prevention = 100% Dominance + 100% Restoration

Paralyzing Dart

Throw a dart at your target, releasing a paralyzing toxin to damage and stunning it and nearby enemies.

Vulnerable to Interrupt : Weapon Mastery Crit Excluded : Controller Debuff
Power Interactions : Dazed enemies take additional damage.
Enemies take heavy damage when Paralyzing Dart is used immediately after unstealthing, using Distract, or applying three different power interactions from the following super powers:
Cryo-field, Cryo-Foam, Fear Gas, Gauss Grenade, Napalm Grenade, Stasis Field, Sticky Bomb, Taser Pull or Vortex Cannon
Control Role : Reduces the target's damage output and removes Damage role buffs.
Damage Role : While Battle Awareness is active, enemies restore Power to you when hit by this ability.
Increases all damage by 50% until the hit counter resets.

Cryo-field

Use an experimental hypothermic device to envelop yourself in a freezing aura that damages enemies over time. On initialization, the device also stuns and damages nearby enemies.

Power Interactions : Inflicts Burning on Electrified enemies to cause damage over time. Inflicts Frostbite to make enemies vulnerable to freezing effects, while Frostbitten enemies may be rooted or encased.
Burning or Electrified enemies will explode.
Damage Role : While Battle Awareness is active, enemies restore Power to you when hit by this ability.
Increases all damage by 50% until the hit counter resets.

Employ a variety of dangerous contraptions to bring down your foes.
Specializing in this tree grants +1% Critical Attack Chance and +35 Power.

Controller Role :  In the Controller role you gain 350 Vitalization, your Dominance is increased by 100% and the strength of all Controller effects is significantly magnified.

Deploy a device that sticks to enemies and detonates, damaging your target and knocking it up into the air. Enemies near your target are stunned and knocked away.

Damage Role : While Battle Awareness is active, enemies restore Power to you when hit by this ability.
Increases all damage by 35% until the hit counter resets.

Intimidation

Use an Intimidation Modulator to intimidate your foes, empowering your attacks to deal additional damage and sometimes cause enemies to cower, stunning them.

Attack Buff
Damage Role : While Battle Awareness is active, further empowers Paralyzing Dart and EMP Pulse to deal additional damage over time.
Increases all damage by 35% until the hit counter resets.

Holographic Decoy

Trigger a holographic decoy to intercept some of your incoming damage and to taunt enemies. On initialization, the deployment stuns nearby enemies.
Transfers 25% of incoming damage to decoy.

Grants Ability: Self-Destruct Signal
Trigger your Holographic Decoy or Suppressor Turret to self-destruct once their firing cycle ends (unless affected by irresistible control effects).
Also detonates any nearby Implosion Mines or Thermite Mines.

Distract

Smash a smoke capsule that prevents incoming damage and protects against control effects for a short time. Enemies are detaunted and compelled to seek other targets.

Damage Role : While Battle Awareness is active, activating this ability Restores Power to you.
Increases all damage by 35% until the hit counter resets.

Tier 3 [Requires level 8]
Anesthetic

Initialize a local anesthetic that prevents incoming damage, rapidly regenerates Health, and protects against control effects for a short time.

Suppressor Turret

Deploy a mobile turret armed with a range of ammunition.
Hold the Suppressor Turret button for three seconds to banish it.

Power Interactions : Inflicts Burning to make enemies vulnerable to burning effects.
Control Role : Fires either cryogenic rounds to Frostbite enemies, making them vulnerable to freezing, stun grenades or taser line to Electrify enemies, making them vulnerable to Electrified power effects, or a Stasis Encasement to damage an enemy over time.

Asphyxiation Gas

Deploy a canister of gas that suffocates enemies within its area of effect, stunning and causing heavy damage over time.

Vortex Cannon

Assault the senses of your enemies with a vortex of air, light, and sound, damaging, knocking down, and possibly stunning them.

Control Role : Reduces the target's damage output and removes Damage role buffs.
Damage Role : While Battle Awareness is active, enemies restore Power to you when hit by this ability.

Trap your target inside a force field, causing damage over time.

Napalm Grenade

Toss a grenade at your enemies that explodes, knocking them down and catching them on fire.

Control Role : Stuns up to two enemies. Reduces the target's ability to heal.
Damage Role : While Battle Awareness is active, enemies restore Power to you when hit by this ability.

Photon Blast

Bombard your target with a powerful photonic ray, damaging and stunning it.
If the target is below 35% health, the attack deals extra damage.

Activate an electromagnetic pulse bomb, stunning and damaging nearby enemies.

Gadgets's Advanced Mechanic can be achieved by using 3 different power interactions.
Gadgets Advanced Mechanic example:

  1. Battle Display activates Battle Awareness for power restoration
  2. Sticky Bomb Dazes opponent and returns power
  3. Cryo-Foam inflicts Frostbite on opponent and returns power
  4. Gauss Grenade Electrifies opponent and returns power
  5. EMP Pulse or Paralyzing Dart causes additional damage due to 3 interactions and returns power
