Protection Money is a level 5 side mission for villains which they can accept once they speak with Cultist Gouge. The mission can be done concurrently with Rare Blood. Protection Money takes place in the Chinatown district of the city of Metropolis and is part of the Sins of the Father story arc.

While Sentinels of Magic have protective wards put up, Circe tasks new magic villains to drain essence from the innocent citizens.

The mission zone is a block east of Sentinels of Magic Base. It is the same zone that of the second part of Rare Blood.

- The arrogant residents are the citizens who resist draining during Rare Blood. They could also be identified by their arrogant dialogue. Interact with then defeat them.
- Wards to the south with the Apprentices do not work, only the ones to the north.
- Destroying a ward would cause two Initiates to appear.
